Sony 2010 LCD TV range announced

The latest 2010 range of Sony LCD TV’s has been announced, with a new ‘monolith’ design, 3D Full HD, Motionflow 200Hz, LED back lighting, and eco features such as ‘Intelligent Presence Sensor’. Sets also have integrated Freeview 3D in anticipation of the forthcoming free to air HD broadcasts.
The new range should mean that real bargains are to be found on the outgoing range, and I have myself already taken advantage of this! The Sony KDL-W5500 was recently at a lowest price of £699 (Amazon and Play.com), but in the last couple of weeks dropped as low as £565 on Amazon at which point I jumped in and made the purchase before the price returned to £699 a couple of days later. I would recommend keeping an eye on this link: Sony Bravia KDL37W5500U 37-inch Widescreen TV as the price of this model and other models in the range are likely to fall even further as the new range becomes available.
I must say I am hugely impressed by the KDL-W5500U (U – indicates model with UK plug). I have delayed buying an LCD TV (have had a Sony Trinitron 28″ widescreen CRT TV for the past 14 years!) due to fears of motion blur and poorly upscaled standard definition images, but the technology has really matured and even without changing the Motionflow and Scene settings at all I have found that action films, sports, and other programme types are all rendered very nicely.
